rests at the heel of the hand for two reasons.
One, the heel of the hand is the strongest part of the
hand. This positioning gives you the grip you need
to escape from the ice should you fall through.
Second, when the claws are positioned at the heel of
your hand you can still grip and hold on to things such
as your fishing pole without any discomfort. You
can perform your normal activities on the ice and not
even notice that you are wearing the PolarClaws™. In
our opinion this is the best part of the design.
People don't wear life jackets because they get in the
way. Some people don't wear seat belts because
they can be uncomfortable. When this product was
designed it's comfortability was very important and we believe
that we have designed a comfortable safety device!
